Rare Chinese 17thc Porcelain Medicine/Snuff Bottle - Kangxi reign & of period Artemisea leaf mark
Very rare and finely painted Kangxi reign and of period blue and white snuff bottle with a stopper, with of period reign Artemisia blue underglaze mark to base, c1700.
Decorated with wonderful landscape scenes in underglaze blue, to both sides and with shades of blue lattice design borders to edges.
Snuff was introduced to China in c1560, but not many porcelain snuff bottles of this type existed during the Kangxi reign period and it is possible that this bottle started life as a Medicine bottle and was later used for snuff.
In excellent condition for age.
