Description


Fine quality detailed hand decorated slender shaped vase typical of the finest Japanese Hirado porcelains produced in the Mikawachi kilns of Arita during the mid 19th century.

Featuring the transluscent white ground associated with all Hirado wares of this period and stylishly highlighted in a wonderful blue displaying a wonderful array of flora including lilies, wild roses, chrysanthemums and kiku heads along with marsh grasses.

Stylised prunus blossoms on blue ground adorn the flared base with scrolled border to the rim. Two elephant trunk Mythical Baku handles complete the look of this superb vase.

This vase is one of the finest examples of Hirado ware we have seen and comes in wonderful undamaged condition.
