Description

Hazle ceramics - collectable wall plaques - English buildings street scene from the "Nation of Shopkeepers" Range.

THIS ONE WAS BOUGHT in 1991 and is SIGNED BY HAZLE on the front. It is RARE !! The "Antiques" shop in the street scene was discontinued in this format in 1992 because the skill of painting the bow windows was considered too difficult for larger production runs.

The plaque design was made between 1991 - 1998 but totally discontinued in 2001.

Handmade and handpainted, described by UK antiques expert as the collectables of the future.

"Antiques" is authentically designed from surviving examples in London's Haymarket and Oxford High Street. Late 18th century, reign of George III, typical of its time with double bowed windows and central door with fanlight.

The Antiques Shop stands 9" tall x just over 4″ wide.

Initials AJ painted on the back.

The company has been going now for over 20 years. This particular plaque was bought when Hazle had just started up and was just catching the attention of antique and collectable dealers in the early 1990s.
