Description

A lovely and unusual Japanese Imari lobed dish with hand painted floral decoration dating from the later part of the 'Meiji Restoration' period c1890. 

Enjoying a lovely traditional floral decoration on a blue painted background. Profusely decorated with red and gold painted swirling circular mons among areas of bright green. The four white, red blue and green floral sprays lead to one large central spray that depicts a vase of flowers. This exceptional spray is painted with similar colours of fine detail. The back of the plate is just as impressive, with marks running the full way around

The condition of this dish is excellent, there are no rim chips or cracks and little wear. There is no crazing and the only slight imperfection is a firing mark to the base which is often the case in these wares.
