An authentic hand thrown and hand painted Matched pair of large Cricket Cages made in the kilns on Hirado Island in the Arita Imari region.

Made in the heyday of Japanese Hirado ware manufacture , c1880 and of irregular reticulated hexagonal shape ,these lovely examples are in superb condition for their age without loss or repair.  

N.B. These items can be sold singularly as these items are individually decorated in prunus blossom design and vary in colour strengh.
