Description

A difficult to find Meiji Period Arita Imari hand painted scalloped and ribbed Shell dish, dating c1890.

This interesting example enjoys the usual Imari colours to the outer rim, highlighted with geometric detail and a central panel but is decorated with a very unusual scene to the large central reserve, depicting hares bounding and frolicking above a stylised sea spray surf.

In excellent condition for it's age with no losses or restorations and a must for any serious collector.
