This site does use Paypal as a payment gateway for Paypal account holders and is built on an EKM power shop platform.

1. The contract between us

We must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods and any applicable delivery and handling charges that you order before your order can be accepted. Your payment of the price for the goods represents an offer on your part to purchase the goods, which will be accepted by us when we send to you an email that the goods have been sent to you. Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us.

2. Ownership of rights

All rights, including copyright, in this website are owned by the site. Any use of this website or its contents, including copying or storing it or them in whole or part, other than for your own personal, non commercial use, is prohibited without our permission. You may not modify, distribute or repost anything on this website for any purpose.
3. Accuracy of content

We have taken care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct at the time of publishing and that all goods have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. Any weights, dimensions and capacities given about the goods are approximate only. We will not be obliged to accept an order for any item for which an incorrect price has been displayed. We will not be responsible for any consequences following the display of incorrect information displayed about products where such information has been sourced from the manufacturer or distributor.

4. Damage to your computer

We try to ensure that this website is free from viruses or defects. However, we cannot guarantee that your use of this website or any websites accessible through it will not cause damage to your computer. It is your responsibility to ensure that the right equipment is available to use the website. Except in the case of negligence on our part, we will not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise to computer equipment as a result of using this website.

5. Availability

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. If the Goods you have ordered are not available, we will contact you by e-mail or phone (if you have given us details). You will have the option either to wait until the item is available or to cancel your order within 7 days. However, we do point out that some of the products we sell are sought after individual items for which waiting lists exist, but cannot always be sourced within a given time frame so it can be worth waiting if you really want that particular item, as they may not come available for a long while unless you are in the waiting list.

6. Ordering errors

You are able to correct errors on your order up to the point on which you click on "submit" during the ordering process.

7. Price

The prices payable for items that you order are as set out in our website. All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rates where applicable and are correct at the time of entering information. All our prices are as seen and include the goods as stated plus all postage/carriage in the UK mainland, shipping insurance, any Paypal fees and service costs and there are no hidden extras once you go to your shopping cart.
Wherever it is not possible to accept your order to buy goods of the specification and description at the price indicated, we will advise you by email, offer to sell you the goods of the specification and description at the price stated in the email and will state the period for which the offer or the price remains valid.

8. Payment terms

We will charge your credit account for payment upon receipt of your order. We accept no liability if a delivery is delayed because you did not give us the correct payment details. If it is not possible to obtain full payment for the goods from your account then we can cancel the contract and/or suspend any further deliveries to you. This does not affect any other rights
we may have.

9. Delivery charges

Delivery charges vary according to the type of goods ordered and cannot be refunded. These days they can be quite high charges and more often that not we pay a higher price for delivery than we charge you. We generally use Couriers to ship larger items and Parcelforce or Royal Mail Recorded for smaller items.

10. Delivery

10.1 Our delivery charges are dependent upon the weight, size and value of the goods you order but we include delivery in our final checkout selling prices except as set out in paragraph 10.2. We will normally try to despatch goods to you using either Royal Mail First Class mail or by overnight courier service subject to our decision based upon the most appropriate method to use. We try to despatch goods to you within 7 working days of your payment being cleared.
10.2 The delivery charges quoted on the web site and within our checkout final price relate to delivery within the United Kingdom excluding The Isle of Man, The Scottish Isles and parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Isles. We reserve the right to levy charges in addition to the standard delivery charge quoted and will email you with information about any additional delivery charge if any are payable and at that time you will have the right to cancel your order if you do not wish to pay any such additional charge. Delivery to any address outside the United Kingdom is subject to a separate agreement and will be negotiated separately on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to decline to supply to any address outside the United Kingdom.
10.3 We will deliver the goods to the address you specify for delivery in your order. It is important that this address is accurate. Please be precise about where you would like the goods left if you are out when we deliver. We cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage to the goods once they have been shipped in accordance with your delivery instructions (unless this is caused by our negligence). We will aim to deliver the goods by the date quoted for delivery but delivery times are not guaranteed. If delivery is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, the delivery date will be extended by a reasonable period and we will contact you to arrange an alternative time.
10.4 You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when they have been shipped to you and therefore left our premises. Once goods have been shipped to you they will be at your own risk and we will not be liable for their loss, damage or destruction in transit with a carrier or in receipt. We recommend absolutely that you open and check the goods delivered by a carrier BEFORE you sign to accept delivery in case there is internal damage from transit not evident from the packaging. You will not be able to claim for damage in transit off the carrier if you have signed acceptance of the item without checking or, in cases of extreme haste of the driver, at least writing on the delivery note that you reserve the right to check the item and inform the carrier of any damage without losing your consumer rights if you were unable to do so in front of the driver.
10.5 If the item you have ordered does not arrive at the UK address supplied within 7 days from the date upon which we send you an email informing you that we have sent you the goods you should contact us of their non-arrival.

11. Risk and ownership

Risk of damage to or loss of the goods passes to you at the time of shipment to you, including if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, the time when we tried to deliver. You will own the goods once they have been shipped out of our premises to you and when we have received cleared payment in full.

12. Acknowledgement and acceptance of your order

You will need to provide us with your e-mail address and we will notify you by e-mail as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your order and e-mail you again to confirm details. An acceptance of your order will take place on despatch of the good(s) ordered.

13. Cancellation rights

13.1 Under the Distance Selling Regulations you have the legal right to cancel your order within seven days of receipt of your goods, with the exception of any made to order or individual one off items or goods which may not be resold due to hygiene reasons. You do not need to give us any reason for cancelling your contract nor will you have to pay any penalty. However, you will need to notify us within 7 days if you wish to cancel your contract and as a courtesy to us we would appreciate knowing whether we did something wrong or why the item you specifically ordered has been rejected if not faulty because returned items will have to be re-sold at possibly reduced prices. Customers who continually abuse the distance selling rights to have product usage for a few days and then return the item will eventually be refused purchases.
13.2 If you have received the goods before you cancel your contract then you must send the goods back to our contact address at your own cost and risk. If you cancel your contract but we have already processed the goods for delivery you must not unpack the goods when they are received by you and you must send the goods back to us at our contact address at your own cost and risk as soon as possible.
13.3 Once you have notified us that you are cancelling your contract, any sum debited to us from your credit card will be re-credited to your account as soon as possible and in any event within 60 days of your order PROVIDED THAT the goods in question are returned by you and received by us in the condition they were in when delivered to you and not showing signs of damage or use. If you do not return the goods delivered to you or do not pay the costs of delivery, we will be entitled to deduct the direct costs of recovering the goods from the amount to be re-credited to you. We reserve the right not to refund if we believe the items have been unpacked and used before return.
13.4 You will be re-credited for the costs incurred in returning faulty or unsatisfactory goods other than those damaged by carriers in transit.
13.5 Individual items, which have been made for you to special order or have been especially purchased for you, may not be returned unless accepted as faulty or not as described.

14. Cancellation by us

14.1 We reserve the right to cancel the contract between us if:
14.1.1 if the item in question has been sold or promised elsewhere before we were able to remove it as being available from our website;
14.1.2 we do not deliver to your area; or
14.1.3 one or more of the items you ordered was listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or an error in the pricing information received by us.
14.2 If we do cancel your contract we will notify you by e-mail and will re-credit to your account any sum deducted by us from your credit card as soon as possible but in any event within 30 days of your order.
15. Liability

15.1 If you do not receive goods ordered by you within 30 days of the date on which you ordered them, we will have no liability to you unless you notify us in writing at our contact address of the problem within 30 days of the date on which you ordered the goods.
If you notify a problem to us under this condition, our only obligation will be, at your option:
15.1.1 to make good any shortage or non-delivery;
15.1.2 to replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective by our negligence; or
15.1.3 to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question in whatever way we choose.
15.2 Both parties shall only be liable under this contract for losses, which are a reasonably foreseeable consequence of the relevant breach of contract
15.3 You must observe and comply with all applicable regulations and legislation, including obtaining all necessary customs, import or other permits to purchase goods from our site. Certain national laws may prohibit the importation or exportation of certain of our goods to you. We make no representation and accept no liability in respect of the export or import of the goods you purchase.
15.4 Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or limit our liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

16. Notices

Unless otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all notices from you to us must be in writing and all notices from us to you will be displayed on our website from to time.

17. Changes to legal notices

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time and you should look through them as often as possible.
18. Law, jurisdiction and language

This website, any content contained therein and any contract brought into being as a result of usage of this website are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Parties to any such contract agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. All contracts are concluded in English.

19.  Invalidity

If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.

20.  Privacy

You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy. We have a data protection policy and have secured this website to industry standards for encryption and protection of your data.

21. Third party rights

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to, nor shall it confer any rights on a third party.

Terms of Sale

Every item is guaranteed to be as described.
Display aids like stands are never included in the sale unless otherwise stated in the description.
We try to describe each item as accurately as possible to the best of our knowledge and mention any obvious flaws or defects.
Our description is based on own experience and/or on the description when we acquired the item ourselves. Third party specialists on a regular basis vet the items as a matter of fact.
In case we missed something, the ample pictures should aid to get a good view of the nature and condition of the item(s).
In combination with the multiple pictures, this should give you the opportunity to draw your own informed conclusion before placing your purchase/bid.
Make sure you have read our return policies below and if still in doubt, please ask any questions before placing your purchase/bid.


UK buyers

 Preferred payment method is bank transfer, postal order, personal cheque and PayPal.
More time will be accommodated if you wish to use cheque or postal order in £ sterling as form of payment. Items will be dispatched as soon as payment has cleared.

International buyers

ONLY payment method accepted is wire / bank transfer and PayPal.
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are specific to each country and are the buyers' responsibility.
Please check with your country customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Return policy for items sold:
Please let us know about returning an item within 7 days of receiving the item. Returns are accepted if the item is "Significantly Not As Described". You will receive a full refund and return shipping costs in this case will be offered as a discount on your next purchase.
Examples accepted as "Significantly not as described" are:
We have sent you the wrong item.
(It has never happened but we all make mistakes).
The size of the item is significantly different from the measurements in the description.
There is a large crack or damage to the item not mentioned in the description or visible in the pictures.
Any condition issue not mentioned in the description or shown in the pictures that would greatly decrease the value of the item.
The item is of a significantly later date than the dating on the listing:
N.B. In the case of disputed age or authenticity, a written and signed report needs to accompany the returned item, provided by a recognised authority in the relevant field (museum, renowned dealer or auction house, renowned Asian art forum). Enough time will be accommodated if this is the case.
Examples, which are NOT accepted as "Significantly not as described" are:
The colour hue or colour saturation of the item is different than in the pictures. This is mainly due to monitor and lighting issues and beyond our control.
There are scratches / tiny chips on the item or the glaze are degraded.
N.B. We sell antiques and used items (some even from shipwreck or burial sites), which by their nature will have some signs of use and/or wear commensurate with their age or origin. It would generally be more worrying if they didn't have this condition.
Any unscientific or not generally accepted condition issues of shape, size or manufacture relating to the item. For example, the item does not conform to Vitruvius' Golden Rule; there is something wrong with the bubbles; etc., etc. any of this kind of controversial characteristics or features will not be accepted as a valid reason. - If you adhere to these or other homegrown rules you have ample opportunity to check before purchase through the description, measurements, high-resolution photographs and the opportunity to ask for additional pictures and info through the 'Contact us' function.
These and other returns are also accepted but any refunds will incur a restocking fee amounting to 20% of the final value sale price and will not include the original shipping fees charged, credit card fees etc. All items need to be returned in "As Sold" condition, using the same or similar packaging. Make sure to mark international custom forms clearly as "Returned Goods" to avoid problems at customs and have the item sent back to sender. All refunds will be processed upon return of the item unless otherwise stated by us.
